One of the many hand crafts that Lorraine dabbles in is leather-working.  

During 2016, when I first started working here, the things I saw she had crafted in leather were usually just small, beautifully handcrafted, vanilla items. Hats, purses, fashion harnesses, etc. 

Sometimes her leather items were practical things like straps and belts. She told me James occasionally needed some custom, made-to-order leather item for one of his contraptions. I also remember that she replaced a broken piece of leather in Sarah's saddle.  

But mostly, she made small, ornamental items -- she called them her 'products'.  Some were functional items like hats or purses. But she seemed to spend most of her time creating beautiful, complex, harness-like items.   

Lorraine has a gift for for creating stunningly beautiful, amazingly intricate designs. I have seen some of her doodles on scrap paper.  on the things she made. She sells some of them to a special client base online. 

Today, at breakfast, Lorraine said to me, "Here, Thalia I think the time has come for this!" She handed me a gift-wrapped package.
